To accomplish the mission, a suitable land measuring approximately 50 acres has been acquired just 5 kms from the Ashram on the Dharampur-Vapi road. On 31st December 2005, this project was named ‘Shrimad Rajchandra Jivamaitridham’(SRJ). Here, bonds of love and friendship will be created and nurtured with utmost care for all living beings - birds, animals and even insects.

Pujyashri Gurudev’s vision is to create a model centre for ahimsa which will motivate more and more animal lovers and inspire love for life in millions of hearts across the globe. Thereby, not confining compassion within the realm of SRJ and the few thousand animals that may reside here, but encouraging many centres alike to grow and spread the message of ahimsa worldwide.
As a concrete step towards this vision, a pilot Gaushala has been set up and is operating at SRJ since 9th November, 2008.

The project “Master Plan” is under finalization and is proposed to include:

  • Panjrapole – A shelter for feeble, crippled & sick animals
  • Pashunivas – A shelter for animals
  • Larger Gaushala – A shelter for cows
  • Veterinary hospital
  • Mobile animal care unit
  • A Lake
  • Insects care unit
  • Chabutra – Canopies for birds
  • Havada – Water troughs for animals
  • An Ahimsa museum involving animatronics and multi-media exhibition

Ongoing Trust Activities

Abhaydan – Jivaraksha

Every year, millions of animals and birds are slaughtered mercilessly. To rescue these innocent and helpless animals, to house them, and look after their well-being is an important part of the trust’s activities. Every year thousands of animals are saved and rehabilitated to various panjrapoles across India. Monetary support is also provided to various organizations that are engaged in looking after such vulnerable animals.

Ahimsa Awareness Programmes

15 million wild animals are killed globally each year for man’s sensual pleasures. To prevent the cruel destruction of life simply for human taste and fashion, SRJ organizes exhibitions, marathons, audio-video documentaries and presentations, awareness skits, promotions of ahimsak articles not involving the killing or torturing of animals, etc. across various centres. Recently such exhibitions have been organized in Dharampur, Kolkata, Surat and New York.

As a result, many aspirants have abandoned the use of animal products, thus enhancing their love and compassion for all living beings.

Other Activities

SRJ has donated a fully equipped and automated animal ambulance to Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA). BSPCA strives to reach out to injured and unhealthy animals for their care and protection.
