The love of a spiritual being is not restricted only to his family and friends, but it overflows encompassing the entire universe. Such love is true ‘Ahimsa’. This legacy of ahimsa, expounded by Lord Mahavir, has been carried forward by Shrimad Rajchandraji in recent times. Approximately 110 years ago, the tradition of killing 108 bulls in and around Dharampur every Dassera was prevented by Him.
Pujyashri Gurudev’s heart overflows with the same love and compassion for all living beings. Even at the age of 8 - 10 years, His heart went out to animals unable to voice their pain and misery. He was known to carry out various acts of compassion like visiting slaughterhouses to free animals and caged birds and to bring peace to dying animals by reciting the mantra ‘Sahajatmaswaroop Paramguru’. As a natural outcome of His universal love, the Shrimad Rajchandra Jivadaya Trust (SRJT)
was formed with His blessings in the year 2004, on the auspicious day of Kartik Purnima (Shrimadji’s birth anniversary), to undertake various such compassionate activities.
