Information Regarding the Retreat

Bhakti is surrender to God. To surrender is to dissolve one's ego. This summer, let us surrender ourselves to divinity. In the heat of Summer of 2009, let us experience the cool of the grace of Pujya Gurudev Shri Rakeshbhai Jhaveri.

Once again, Pujyashri Gurudev has accorded us a wonderful Shibir in New Jersey. And like the cherry that tops the cake, we will have the unique and rare opportunity this time to celebrate Guru Purnima with our beloved Bapaji.

The Summer of Surrender Shibir and Guru Purnima Celebration 2009 will be held this time in New Brunswick, NJ. It will be a residential Shibir away from home and all it's daily distractions, and will consist of insightful and life transforming Pravachans on Jinvani, heart soaking Bhakti sangeet, serene soul searching Meditations and fun-filled Celebrations consisting of enlightening cultural presentations.

Whether you take time off and stay there in order to remain in full bhaav, or commute from home, this Shibir is bound to touch you from within.

Note:
  • The retreat ends on Sunday 28th June, 2009 (after lunch)
  • Signing-in for the retreat will begin on Friday 26th June, at 11:00 a.m. and go on until 3:00 p.m. It will also continue during lunch. Everyone must check-in by 3:00 p.m. to ensure entry in the retreat.
  • Registration will remain open for 30 minutes before every Pravachan.
  • Please assemble at least 15 minutes before the session begins.
  • Children under 10 years will not be allowed in the hall during sessions. They must be under supervision at all times.
  • Kindly keep your mobile phones/pagers switched off during sessions.
  • Meal Timings:
    Breakfast: 08:00 - 09:00 a.m. Lunch: 12:30 - 01:30 p.m.
    Tea: 03:00 - 03:30 p.m. Dinner: 06:30 - 07:15 p.m.

Registration

Please read the following details prior to registering for the Retreat:

  • This is a residential retreat - all activities are in one location. For your convenience, it is highly recommended that you stay in the hotel during the entire retreat so as to take maximum benefit from the retreat. However, staying at the hotel is not mandatory.
  • All Pravachans, lodging and boarding are on the same premises and hence no transportation is required, once you arrive at the hotel.
  • Registration is on first come, first serve basis and will be closed once all spaces are filled. To ensure entrance in the retreat, all the attendees are requested to register early (online) and immediately check-in on arrival at the hotel. Last minute entries will be permitted as per the space available.
  • Your registration will be confirmed via email. If you do not receive a confirmation within 48 hours after your request, and for cancellations or modifications, please email at registration@srcna.org.
  • Children younger than 10 years will not be allowed in the hall during sessions.

  • Retreat entrance fees charged do not cover all expenses incurred, and sponsorships help pay for the deficits. If there are any surpluses, they are used to promote our organization's spiritual and humanitarian activities in India and abroad under Pujyashri Gurudev's guidance.

  • Please understand that you are taking a laabh of Arti, Mangal Divo and Chamar for a nakro and the money collected will be used for general retreat and other expenses.

Information (must read for hotel rooms)
The following information pertains to hotel room booking at the Hyatt Regency.

  • The venue for the Retreat is the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
  • All participants are responsible for their own hotel/lodging arrangements. Registration for the retreat is required but does not include or guarantee hotel rooms.
  • As an aid to the attendees, we have negotiated a group discount rate with the Hyatt Regency at $73 per night + taxes for upto 4 adults per room.
  • We are guaranteed 100 double rooms until May 31st. After that date it will be based on availability. Hotel has 138 Doubles.

To and from Newark Airport:
AAA Car Service(1-888-777-3055): $71(inclusive of tolls and gratuities). Group Rates Available.
Taxi: Approx. $45-$65 (tolls and gratuity are additional).

To and from New York city:
Train: New Jersey transit - located 2 blocks from the hotel. Runs approx. every hour. Round trip cost to New York Penn Station - $13.50
Bus – Suburban transit (800-222-0492): 1 Block from hotel, runs every 15 mins before and after the hour. Roundtrip cost - $13.85. Suburban transit
Amtrak service: 2 blocks from hotel - taxi $3.00.

To and from Philadelphia:
Amtrack service: New Brunswick to Philadelphia $40 except Friday-Sunday, $46 one way $80 roundtrip. Friday: The train runs at 6:56AM & 8:23AM .$25 After these hours the guest would need to take a cab to Metro Park ($15-20 approx.) Then take train from there for an additional $25. New Brunswick to New York: $32
